Ingredients

1 pound ground beef1/2 pound ground pork2 cans (28 ounces each) diced tomatoes, undrained1/2 to 1 cup water1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste1 cup chopped carrots1 medium onion, cut into wedges1 medium sweet red pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces2 tablespoons sugar2 teaspoons minced garlic1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon dried basil1 teaspoon dried oregano1 teaspoon pepperHot cooked bow tie pasta

Preparation

In a large skillet, cook beef and pork over medium heat until no longer pink; drain.

Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker. Stir in the tomatoes, water, tomato paste, vegetables, sugar, garlic and seasonings. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until vegetables are tender. Serve with pasta.
