Ingredients
1/3 cup butter, softened1 cup packed brown sugar1 large egg1/3 cup hot strong brewed coffee1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking powder1 teaspoon ground cinnamon1/4 teaspoon baking soda1/4 teaspoon salt1 cup semisweet chocolate chips1/2 cup chopped walnutsGLAZE:3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract3 to 4 teaspoons whole milk
Preparation
In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and coffee. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Spread into a well-greased 8-in. square baking dish. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
In a small bowl, combine the confectioners’ sugar, vanilla and enough milk to achieve a desired consistency. Drizzle over warm bars. Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting.
