1 cup butter, softened2 cups packed brown sugar1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 large eggs2 cups all-purpose flour2 cups old-fashioned oats1 teaspoon baking powder1 teaspoon baking soda1 teaspoon salt2 cups sweetened shredded coconutPecan halves

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325°. Cream butter, brown sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine next five ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in coconut.

Shape into 1-in. balls. Place 2-1/2 in. apart on greased baking sheets (cookies will spread). Place pecan half in the center of each cookie and push down slightly. Bake 14-16 minutes.
