Ingredients
1 pound ground beef1 medium onion, chopped1 garlic clove, halved1 tablespoon curry powder1/2 cup water1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon sugar1/4 teaspoon pepper1 medium tomato, seeded and diced1 medium zucchini, diced8 pita pocket halvesRefrigerated tzatziki sauce, optional
Preparation
In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet, brown ground beef with the onion, garlic and curry; drain, discarding garlic. Stir in the water, salt, sugar and pepper. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
Add tomato and zucchini; cook just until heated through. Spoon meat mixture into pita breads. If desired, serve with tzatziki sauce.
